Early Exposure to Technology

Connor MacIvor’s journey with technology began long before AI was a household term. His father, a mechanical engineer and graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, worked at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico on the Pershing and Nike ICBM projects during the height of the Cold War.

At just 12 or 13 years old, Connor watched as his father brought pieces of that world home—schematics, tech materials, and the spark of curiosity. Fascinated, he dove into what was then called programming, long before “coding” became the term. From those early days tinkering on machines, he was smitten with technology.

That fascination never left. Even while serving in one of the toughest jobs imaginable—as a Los Angeles Police Officer—Connor never stopped coding, experimenting, and building. Today, that early spark has evolved into a lifelong pursuit, culminating in his work as an AI Growth Architect and educator, guiding others through the world’s most important technological revolution.

Connor’s first professional career was law enforcement. From 1990 through 2013, he served with the Los Angeles Police Department, where he became not just an officer but a respected instructor at the Los Angeles Police Academy.

Certified in multiple disciplines, he trained recruits, in-service officers, and even international agencies in:

Drug Recognition Expertise – Teaching officers to spot impaired drivers and drug-related behavior in the field.

IDAP (Impaired Driver Apprehension Program) – A specialized curriculum on detecting and safely handling impaired drivers.

Firearms Training – Certified as a shotgun instructor, .45 caliber transition program instructor, and Glock instructor, as well as a general firearms instructor for the California Police Academy.

Radar and Laser Operation – Teaching precision traffic enforcement.

Innovation After the North Hollywood Shootout

The turning point came after the infamous 1997 North Hollywood bank robbery and shootout, where outgunned LAPD officers faced heavily armed suspects. Recognizing a critical gap, Connor partnered with LAPD legend Larry Mudgett to integrate 12-gauge shotguns onto police motorcycles.

They designed the deployment and shooting plan, tested it in the field, and secured POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) accreditation for the curriculum. The innovation improved officer safety and tactical effectiveness for motor units, gang divisions, narcotics teams, and even special sections.

Over his career, Connor trained hundreds of LAPD officers, as well as visiting units like the RCMP of Canada and even the Bobbies from England, establishing himself as an instructor whose work transcended borders.

Real Estate and Reinvention

In 1998, while still serving as a police officer, Connor earned his California real estate license. By 2007, he transitioned full-time into real estate, founding SantaClaritaOpenHouses.com and building a reputation as a Realtor® who put honesty and clarity first. His personal brand—Connor with Honor—became a trusted name in Santa Clarita, symbolizing integrity in an industry often clouded by confusion.

A Story of Personal Transformation

Connor’s life is also marked by profound personal reinvention. At one point, he weighed 365 pounds with a 65-inch waist. Through fasting, disciplined lifting, and hormone optimization, he shed 135 pounds in just 7.5 months. Today, at 6’1” with a 34-inch waist and 245 pounds of muscle, he stands as living proof that transformation is possible with discipline and focus.

In 2023, he also chose sobriety, leaving alcohol behind and embracing clarity, health, and focus.

Drawing from his lifelong passion for technology—sparked in childhood, sharpened through years of programming, and tested in real-world careers—Connor is now fully immersed in artificial intelligence education and development.
